In November 2007, Nerul saw a new sunrise. The following members came together and resolved to float an organization for the allround development of the Nair community that has made Nerul its home. Thus came the idea of Nerul Nair Seva Samaj. It was the dawn if a new era.

In a defining moment of July 2008, Nerul Nair Seva Samaj received registration under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950, and the idea of Nerul NSS became a reality. Yes, the same year when G Madhavan Nair launched Chandrayan I into lunar orbit and raised the morale of India to the sky. It's also the same year when two of our bravehearts (Sandeep Unnikrishnan & Vikraman Menon) sacrificed their lives along with Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte, Vijay Salaskar and the like to protect the lives and properties of Mumbaikars.

The overwhelming support and backing provided by the Nerul Nair community made all the difference. The rest is history...
